MG, Cards Play To 0-0 Soccer Tie

Goalies Kyle Richardson of Maple Grove and Nick Carpenter of Randolph were flawless in a scoreless non-league tie on the Dutch Hollow Road on Friday afternoon.

Maple Grove finishes the regular-season with a 11-3-2 record while Randolph is unbeaten.

Both teams will get high seeds in the upcoming Section 6 playoffs.

VOLLEYBALL

FALCONER WINS

BROCTON – The Falconer Lady Golden Falcons (8-6, 8-2) clinched a share of the CCAA West I girls high school volleyball crown with Jamestown, following a 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 sweep of Brocton-Westfield (5-14, 1-9) on Friday.

Alyssa Brooks led the charge with 14 kills, three aces and two blocks. Kalynn Swanson added 15 assists and two aces while Kaylei Russell charted four aces and two blocks for the winners.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Lindsay Harp’s six kills, one ace and four blocks. Marissa Okerlund added four kills, one ace and two blocks in defeat.

NON-LEAGUE

CRANDALL LEADS WAY

CATTARAUGUS – Sara Crandall delivered 16 kills, two aces and 13 digs as Cattaraugus-Little Valley (13-4) posted a 25-15, 25-22, 25-17 victory over North Collins (10-6) in non-league girls volleyball on Friday.

Also for the winners, Natalie Booth produced 10 kills, an ace and one block; Ashlee Harvey had nine kills and two blocks; and Alyssia Goodwill had two kills, 15 assists and six digs.

Jasmine Filkov came through with10 kills, an ace and one dig, and Angela Filkov had 14 kills and six digs.

In the junior varsity, Cattaraugus-Little Valley won in two games.

PANAMA PREVAILS

PANAMA – Carly Abbate had 32 points, 20 assists, five aces and six kills, and Brittany Lenart 12 points, 11 kills, an ace and a block as Panama (8-2, 10-7) downed Pine Valley (3-7, 8-10), 25-14, 23-25, 25-12, 25-8, in non-league girls volleyball.

Taylor Bowen added three aces, four kills, nine assists and six points; Ally Strickland six points and an ace; Naomi Kenney six blocks; and Kalli Davenport six digs and two kills in the win.

Aaren Waterman recorded three kills and four blocks; Ahleen Pollock 18 assists and an ace; Kayla Mansfield eight kills and Kayce Abers five kills in the loss.

Panama won the junior varsity match, 25-12, 25-12.
