Three Charged For Meth Production
Three Jamestown residents face multiple charges following a fire Thursday afternoon.
Jamestown firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 57 Spruce St. at 3 p.m.
As the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered several items utilized in the production of methamphetamines. The combustible material was suspected as the source of the fire.
Scott Finch, 38, Nina Finch, 37, and John Dursma, 29, three occupants of the home, were at the residence and taken into custody for endangering the welfare of the three children who also live at the residence as well as second-degree manufacturing of methamphetamine. Scott Finch was additionally charged with unlawful growing of cannabis and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The investigation is continuing and additional charges are expected.
The defendants were arraigned in Jamestown City Court and sent to Chautauqua County Jail without bail. They will be held there until a preliminary hearing next week.
The three children were turned over to family members.
The Jamestown Fire Department was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the New York State Police’s Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.
