Three Face Charges Following Thursday Fire

Three Jamestown residents face charges following a fire Thursday afternoon.

Jamestown firefighters responded to a residential structure fire at 57 Spruce St. at 3 p.m.

As the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered several items utilized in the production of methamphetamines. The combustible material was suspected as the source of the fire.

Scott Finch, Nina Finch and John Dursma, three occupants of the home, were at the residence and taken into custody for endangering the welfare of the three children who also live at the residence.

The investigation is continuing and charges in addition to the three counts for each occupant are expected. The defendants were taken to Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.

The Jamestown Fire Department was assisted by the Jamestown Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the New York State Police’s Community Narcotics Enforcement Team.
