JHS Class Of 1943 Celebrates 70th?Anniversary
Jamestown High School class of 1943 alumni celebrated their 70th reunion recently in Moon Brook Country Club. Members and guests attended from California, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and West Virginia. Greeters were George Dimias, Douglas Benson, Aurora Grassi Bondi and Audrey Anderson, co-chairwomen. Della Arnone Cusimano was in charge of the welcome table.
The Rev. Harold Kelly led a time of remembrance for deceased classmates and gave the invocation before dinner.
Aurora Bondi spoke on area class get-togethers and donations made to local nonprofit organizations including the Roger Tory Peterson Institute, the James Prendergast Library, Robert H. Jackson Center and St. Susan Center.
Classmates who served in the military during World War II were honored.
A DVD of photographs taken from past reunions and picnics was shown.
A brunch was also held the next morning.
The yearly reunion reflection letter will be sent to all alumni and a fall lunch will be held for area classmates.
