FREDONIA – Douglas Schwertfager, 56, of Fredonia was charged with no/inadequate lights, driving while intoxicated and DWI with a blood alcohol limit of .08 percent or higher Tuesday at 7:38 p.m. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies observed Schwertfager traveling southbound on Route 60 in Fredonia with no lights on. He was stopped on Route 20 near Route 60. Schwertfager was issued tickets and will answer the charges in Fredonia Court.


CARROLLTON – Anne Tran, 38, of Bradford was charged with petit larceny on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Tran in Carrollton following a traffic stop, and investigation found she allegedly had an outstanding arrest warrant for petit larceny in Salamanca. The charges stemmed from an alleged theft of a cellphone, an incident that occurred in the Seneca Allegany Casino earlier in September. She was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in Salamanca Court at a later date.

NEW ALBION – Harry Blauvelt, 66, of Little Valley was charged with second-degree aggravated assault on Oct. 10 at 5:45 p.m. Blauvelt was arrested on a warrant, and he was arraigned in New Albion Court. Blauvelt was released to appear at a later date.

LEON – Ryan Rodriguez, 21, of Irving was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI over .08 percent blood alcohol content, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and failure to maintain lane on Saturday at 10:35 p.m. He was stopped on Mosher Hollow in Leon for a traffic stop. Rodriguez was processed and released on appearance tickets to appear back in Leon Court at a later date.

LITTLE VALLEY – Michael Doner, 20, of Little Valley was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Sunday at 11:45 p.m. There was an alleged domestic incidence at his residence where he allegedly damaged property. Doner was arraigned in New Albion Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. He is to appear in Little Valley Court at a later date.

CONEWANGO – Michelle Rogers, 33, of Conewango was arrested on a bench warrant issued by Leon Court on Sunday at 5 p.m. She was arraigned in Conewango Court and released. Rogers is due back in Leon Court at a later time.


SALAMANCA – Maria Jimerson, 43, and Terrence Smith, 49, both of Kill Buck were charged with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. Both defendants were allegedly in possession of suspected heroin and crack cocaine when officers visited their home on a search warrant. More charges are pending at the completion of the investigation. They were arraigned in Salamanca Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. Members were assisted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department.


NORTH HARMONY – Jay Post, 34, of Ashville was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Tuesday at 11:50 a.m.

ELLICOTT – Mark Maio, 29, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m.

ELLICOTT- Clinton Waite, 57, of Randolph was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon on Tuesday at 6:21 p.m.

CONEWANGO – Robert Brown, 20, of Conewango was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Tuesday at 5:39 p.m.



Richard Haskins, 47, of Russell, Pa., was traveling north on Akeley Road when he allegedly traveled off the east side of the roadway, entering a ditch traveling approximately 150 feet prior to impacting a culvert with his 2013 GMC Acadia’s undercarriage on Tuesday at 7:01 p.m. The vehicle continued to travel north approximately 240 feet before crossing the roadway and entering a ditch on the west side of the roadway, traveling approximately 30 feet, continuing to the point of final rest. The incident is under investigation.
