Mayville Senior Citizens To Hold Meeting Thursday

MAYVILLE – On Oct. 3, 42 people met for lunch and a Mayville Senior Citizens meeting at the Mayville VFW dining hall. Joyce Ayers welcomed everyone, and Virginia Scriven gave the invocation. Nancy Peters, nurse, was giving blood pressure readings before lunch and will be doing so the first Thursday of each month.

Mary Carlson called table numbers. Ayers led the Pledge to the Flag and reports were given. The secretary and treasurer reports were read and approved.

Birthdays for October were celebrated for Loretta Spielman, Edna Tilyou, Betty Walters, Jean Sampson, Joann Westphal, Jeffrey Wagner, Lois Maloy, John Kroll, Shirley Zentz, Rose Latimer, Wayne Dunbar and Rex Wilson.

Anniversaries for October were celebrated for Jack and Fern Abrams, James and Arleen Kurtz, and Bonnie and Doug Johnson.

Door prizes were won by Beverly White and Sandy Anderson. D.L. Puchan spoke about a forest ranger’s job in Chautauqua County.
