Lady Red Dragons Pick Up First Girls Volleyball Victory

SINCLAIRVILLE – Maple Grove recorded its first win (1-12, 1-13) in West 2 Division girls volleyball Thursday night.

Jazmine Hannold delivered 23 points, 14 assists and eight digs while Nicole Hemminger had 10 kills, Sierra Sperenza three kills and 16 digs, and Paige Hammond two kills as the Lady Red Dragons outlasted Cassadaga Valley (1-8, 1-14), 12-25, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 25-12.

Hope Zielinski had six kills, 25 points, two aces, a dig and a block, Brooke Johnson six assists and a dig and Alyssa Hahn 10 assists and three digs for Cassadaga Valley.

Cassadaga Valley won two games in the jayvee match.

PANAMA TOPS SHERMAN

SHERMAN – Panama made its division record 7-2 and 8-6 overall by taking Sherman in three games, 25-14, 26-24, 25-15.

Naomi Kenny had six kills and two blocks while Brittany Lenart had two aces, five kills and Carly Abbate six aces, two kills and nine assists for Panama.

For Sherman, Cadi Hannold recorded an ace and seven assists, and Katrina Christmas two aces, a kill and four blocks.

Panama jayvees won in two straight games over Sherman.
