Elizabeth A. Bailey

CATTARAUGUS – Elizabeth A. Bailey, 77, of Bailey Hill Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at ECMC in Buffalo, N.Y.

She was born April 17, 1936 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late Adolph and Mary (Stetson) Hahn.

On June 21, 1952 she married Lee Bailey Jr., who survives.

Mrs. Bailey worked on her family’s dairy farm for many years. She was a member of St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church in South Dayton, N.Y., and a social member of the South Dayton American Legion and the Gowanda Moose Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by four sons: Michael (Catherine) Bailey of Lancaster, N.Y., Chris (Carol) Bailey of Mechanicsville, N.Y., Jeffery (Sondra Lamacchia) Bailey of Cattaraugus, N.Y., and Kevin (Indy) Bailey of South Dayton, N.Y.; three daughters: Cheryl (Roy) Lindberg of Cattaraugus, N.Y., Pennie (Bob) Stark of Dayton, N.Y., and Julie (Randy) Scott of South Dayton, N.Y.; and 15 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrand children. Also surviving is a brother, Phillip (Irene) Hahn of Dayton, N.Y.; and 2 sisters: Nancy (Dan) Swenson of Erie, Pa., and Susie (Dick) Meneely of Bradenton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Randall Bailey; a brother, Grant Hahn; a sister, Janice Robbins; and a grandson, Adam Stark.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 E. Main St. in Gowanda, N.Y., on Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, from 35 p.m. and 79 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church

Burial will be in Parklawn Cemetery in Wesley, N.Y.

Memorials may be made to the Leon Volunteer Fire Department.
