Allegheny Outdoor Club Announces Weekend Hikes
On Saturday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club (AOC) will hike 4 miles in and out to an abandoned Civilian Conservation Corps site at Little Rock City near Salamanca. Hikers will also explore the rock formations, where they may get wet and dirty; for this reason they should bring an extra sweatshirt or jacket, as well as water and a lunch. Participants from the Warren/Jamestown area will meet at the Park and Ride in Jamestown on Route 60 just north of Interstate 86 at 10 a.m. For those driving directly to the site they should be at Hungry Hollow Road, north of Salamanca, at 11 a.m. For more information call Keith or Cindy Miller at 782-2072.
On Sunday, the AOC will hike 4 miles on abandoned fire roads in Scandia. Participants will meet at Howe’s True Value at 1:30 p.m. For more information call Jim Houghtling at 814-723-1654.
