Frewsburg Man Charged In Apparent Burglary

FREWSBURG – A Frewsburg man faces felony charges after allegedly burglarizing a downtown Frewsburg bar overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

Devin C. Perez, 19, was charged with third-degree burglary, petit larceny, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest Friday evening and was sent to Chautauqua County Jail pending a bail recommendation by the district attorney’s office.

At about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Carroll Police received a report of a possible burglary at Anderson’s Tavern, 2 E. Main St., Frewsburg. During the course of the burglary a large quantity of liquor and lottery tickets were stolen. A subsequent investigation by the Town of Carroll Police Department resulted in the recovery of more than $820 worth of liquor and lottery tickets, which were reported stolen.

Perez resisted arrest when officers attempted to take him into custody Friday night around 8 p.m. Additional charges are expected as a result of the investigation and other criminal complaints received in Carroll by both the New York State Police and Carroll Police Department.
