Widows Lunch Set For Oct. 13
A free lunch, honoring the widows in our community, will be held in the Levant Wesleyan Church at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. Casey Cannon will present a piano concert. Reservations are required and should be made by Oct. 10; call 969-6135.
Is Stamp Month
OLEAN – October is designated by the United States Postal Service as Stamp Collecting Month and the Olean Stamp Club will sponsor the 17th annual Stamp and Post Card show room 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Elks Club, 209 W. State St., Olean. What’s in Your Attic will be featured at the Olepex ’13 and is a chance to take in questionable items. Free appraisals will be given on stamps, post cards and paper ephemera. To Ride Sunday
CORRY, Pa. – On Sunday The Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes 12 miles on the Corry to Clymer Bike Path. Participants from the Warren area will meet at Betts Field at 1:30 p.m. and caravan from there. For those driving directly to the trailhead: get on Route 6 in Corry and drive to the stoplight at Route 426, drive north on Route 426 a few hundred feet and pull over on your right near the Pine Grove Cemetery. FORESTVILLE – The Forestville Fire Department, 18 Chestnut St., Forestville, will host the annual fall festival chicken barbecue beginning at noon on Sunday. Dinner includes half a chicken, potatoes, acorn squash, garden salad, roll and homemade dessert.
After Prom Group To Meet Sunday
FALCONER – A Falconer After Prom meeting will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the eighth-grade project room. All 11th- and 12th-grade parents are encouraged to attend. Also, any 10th-grade parents or anyone else who wants to help out this year should attend. A fruit sale has been started. Forms and money should be turned in by Oct. 23. Harvest Dinner Set For Sunday
LEON – The Leon Fireman’s Auxiliary will hold its annual harvest dinner beginning at noon Sunday in the firehall. The cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children, ages 6 to 12; free for children under age 5. Featured will be turkey and all the trimmings and theme baskets. Takeouts will be available.
