Story Hour Resumes

SINCLAIRVILLE – The Sinclairville Free Library will resume its pre-school story hour. Two sessions will be available. The first is from 9-10 a.m. Wednesdays and the second is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Fridays. Story hour begins today. Preschoolers age 3 and over along with parents and caregivers are invited to participate in an hour that includes stories, crafts, snacks and making new friends. Steak Dinner

Set For Friday

Christ First United Methodist Church will serve a Swiss steak dinner, with home-baked pie, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday. Proceeds will benefit the college scholarship fund. The cost is a donation of $9 for adults; $5 for children, age 12 and under. Tickets are available from church members and at the door.

Kayak Program Is Saturday

BEMUS POINT – The New York State Parks will be leading a kayak program at Long Point State Park on Chautauqua Lake at Bemus Point on Saturday from 9-11 a.m. Participants will paddle the waters of Chautauqua Lake from Long Point to the historic Midway Amusement Park and back. Open House

For Veterans

An open house for veterans will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jamestown Veterans Administration Community Based Outpatient Clinic, 608 W. Third St., Jamestown. Veterans can meet with staff, see the clinic and learn more about benefits they may have coming to them. Veterans should bring their discharge papers along with their financial information from 2012 for accurate benefits counseling. VA offers benefits for returning Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn, Women’s health and My HealtheVet, an online personal secure health record and more. Flu vaccines will be offered at no charge for veterans enrolled in VA health care and those who enroll that day. Thule Lodge To Hold Friday Meal

BEMUS POINT – The Thule Lodge, located at 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold a fish dinner this Friday from 5-7 p.m. Fish will be prepared in one of three ways, broiled, pan fried or breaded. A second choice of a meal will be Swedish korv and rotmos. All dinners are open to everyone. Thule Lodge preserves the Swedish heritage in the Jamestown/Bemus Point area with events and activities. New members are always welcome.
