Hillcrest To Celebrate Hinman’s Installation

Hillcrest Baptist Church will celebrate the installation of the Rev. Mark J. Hinman, the church’s new lead pastor, at a special all-church service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Licensed for ministry in 1999, Hinman was ordained by the church in May 2013 in conjunction with Converge Worldwide, formerly the Baptist General Conference. Hinman has served as associate pastor of worship and music at the church since 1994 in addition to his sales and management responsibilities as vice president at Register Graphics in Randolph.

Hinman’s call as senior leader followed an extensive 15 month search process.

“We are thrilled to have Mark on board as our Lead Pastor at Hillcrest,” said Rob Wagner, church chairman and deacon. “Mark’s appointment has generated excitement and a positive atmosphere throughout the church family.”

A 1982 graduate of Randolph Central School, Hinman also is a graduate of Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. He and his wife Danielle and daughters Kathryn, Alexis, Madison and Mackenzie make their home in Randolph.

Special speaker for the installation service will be the Rev. Dr. Daniel Peterson, executive minister for Converge MidAtlantic, a movement of 80 churches in a seven-state region. Peterson is a graduate of Bethel College and Bethel Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minn., and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif.

The service will also include celebration of Believer’s Baptism, child dedications and the welcoming of new church members. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service, providing an opportunity for the community to welcome Hinman to his new leadership role.
