John Temple Nelson II
FREWSBURG – John Temple Nelson II, 86, of 91 Main St., died, Saturday (Sept. 28, 2013) at his home.
He was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Jamestown, the son of J. Temple and Thressa Becker Nelson.
John was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Before retiring, John had owned and operated the former BNB Exon in Frewsburg.
He was a member of Samuel Derby Post 556 American Legion, Frewsburg, a proud 65-year member of the Frewsburg Fire Co., Frewsburg Fireman’s Exempts and Zion Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. He was a sports enthusiast. John loved attending his grandchildren’s many sporting events and continued supporting Frewsburg sports for many years. Besides spending time with his family, John’s true joy was sharing a smile or story or two with others. He was a true people person.
John is survived by his wife, (Pansy) Joanne Ryberg Nelson; two daughters: Becky Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jane (Mark) Derby of Frewsburg; and two grandchildren: Nichole Pinciaro of Jamestown and John Pinciaro of Frewsburg.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a son, John T. Nelson III.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Zion Lutheran, Church, Frewsburg. The Rev. Rebecca Ehrlich, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
