Lady Cards Post Volleyball Win

RANDOLPH – McKenna Maycock led Randolph to a sweep over Salamanca in East 1 girls volleyball on Wednesday.

Maycock recorded 22 kills and six aces as the Lady Cardinals topped Salamanca, 25-6, 25-12, 25-11 to increase their record to 11-1 overall.

Miranda Gross had 11 assists, Alexis Hinman three kills and Alexis Terrette an assist for the winners.

Ashley Miller had nine digs and three aces for Salamanca nine digs.

Randolph jayvees won in two straight.


ALLEGANY – Sara Crandall delivered 14 kills, four aces and seven digs and Jessica Pritchard seven kills, an ace and five digs as Cattaraugus-Little Valley (4-2, 6-2) defeated Allegany-Limestone (3-3, 4-5), 28-24, 25-12, 25-22.

Ashley Harvey had six kills, an ace, two digs and four blocks; Alyssia Goodwill 22 assists, six digs, three kills and an ace; and Natalie Booth two kills and three aces for the winners.

For Allegany-Limestone, Allison Watson recorded 16 kills and four digs; Lauren Ruffner five kills, five digs and four aces; and Melody Hudson five assists.

Allegany-Limestone won the jayvee match with a 2-1 victory.



FORESTVILLE – Led by Alisha Szumigala, Forestville increased to 4-2 in the division and 5-3 overall by virtue of a 25-11, 25-17, 25-11 victory over Gowanda (0-6, 0-7).

Szumigala had 17 kills, two blocks and two aces, Sierra Tweedie four kills, five digs and four aces, and Eleana Oyler six kills in the win.

Syd Dominiak and Malyssa Farley split six aces for Gowanda.

Gowanda captured the junior varsity match in two games.


ELLICOTTVILLE – Courtney Scanlon delivered 20 kills, six aces, 11 digs and two blocks when Ellicottville (9-1, 8-0) topped North Collins, 25-12, 25-13, 25-14.

Along with Scanlon, Marissa Hamilton had six kills, 19 assists, two blocks and seven digs; and Kayla Dunkleman had three kills, one ace and 16 digs.

For North Collins (5-3, 5-1), Nicole Torrey led with seven kills, Beth Kibler followed with five kills and an ace and Arrica Bley chipped in with four kills.



Ahleen Pollock had five aces, 11 assists and a block and Katlin Hoth three aces and two digs as Pine Valley (2-3, 5-4) downed Maple Grove (0-5, 0-6), 25-16, 25-11, and 25-7.

Kayla Mansfield had five kills and two digs, Aaren Waterman five kills and three blocks and Kayle Abers four kills for Pine Valley.

Sierra Hannold recorded three points, seven assists, two kills and 25 digs; Nicole Hemminger a kill, three blocks and 11 digs; and Paige Hammond a point and a kill for Maple Grove.

Pine Valley also won the junior varsity match.
