Norrine Lois Wells Abbott

Norrine Lois Wells Abbott, 94, of Henderson, Nev., formerly of Celoron, and Lottsville, Pa., died Friday (Sept. 20, 2013) in Las Vegas, Nev.

She was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Freehold Township, Pa., the daughter of Ray E. and Drusa Mandaville Wells. She was a graduate of Lottsville (Pa.) High School.

Prior to retiring on Nov. 1, 1983, she had been employed for 14 years as a teller at the Lakewood branch of the former Bank of Jamestown (now Key Bank). In earlier years she had worked at the former Quality Markets for 10 years.

Mrs. Abbott had been a member of the Celoron and Lottsville United Methodist churches, was a member of the Southwestern Central Schools Band Parents, the Parent Teacher Association, and was a founding member of the Southwestern Central Sports Boosters Club. She had also been a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader, and was a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.

An avid gardener, she had won the second-place gardening award during Celoron’s 100th Anniversary. She also loved an-imals.

Surviving are her children: Douglas (Laura Anderson) Abbott of Henderson, Nev., and Roxane (Brad) Tartaglia-Houser of Williamsport, Pa.; two grandchildren: Kristen (Jeff) Patryna of Williamsport, Pa., and Kathryn Tar-taglia of Harrisburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Er-man L. Abbott, whom she married Dec. 3, 1937, in North Warren, Pa., and who died May 29, 1996; and by a brother, Loren Wells.

The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Friday in Powers, Present & Sixbey Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Howles of the Lottsville United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Bear Lake Cemetery.
