Jamestown Man Found In Possession Of Loaded .40 Caliber Pistol, Crack Cocaine

A Jamestown man finds himself back in the city jail after police found him in possession of a loaded .40 caliber pistol and crack cocaine while responding to a domestic disturbance.

Zaid Mendoza, 35, attempted to avoid apprehension by police officers by fleeing from a domestic disturbance, and as a result was subdued by a taser device, police said. Following the measures taken by police to ensure that Mendoza could not get away, he was found in possession of the pistol, several baggies of crack cocaine and cash.

The pistol was found to have had its serial number defaced, and it is believed to be stolen, police said.

Mendoza was taken into custody and is being charged with multiple felony charges. He is currently awaiting arraignment.

A full report on the incident will be featured in the Wednesday edition of The Post-Journal.
