Area Police Reports
RANDOLPH – Jeffrey S. Mighells, 55, of 2590 Vollentine Road, Randolph, was charged at 11:05 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 with driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain lane and speed not reasonable. Patrol responded to a one car rollover accident on Bowen Road in the town of Randolph. Mighells was processed and released on appearance tickets. He is due back in the town of Randolph Court at a later date.
POMFRET – Kevin J. Nicander, 19, of Derby, N.Y., was charged at 2:07 a.m. on Saturday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se, speed in zone 57/40 and window tint. Sheriff’s patrol observed a speeding motorist traveling east on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Nicander. Following an investigation, Nicander was charged, processed and released to a sober third party. He will appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.
- POMFRET – James M. Callahan, 61, of Fredonia, was charged at 9:37 p.m. on Sunday with speed in zone, driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated per se. Sheriff’s Deputies on patrol on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret observed a speeding motorist. Upon stopping the vehicle Callahan was identified as its operator. Through an investigation, deputies found he was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. He was processed and later released with traffic tickets. Callahan will appear in Pomfret Court at a later date.
- POMFRET – Angel A. Alvarez-Colon, 25, of Bradenton, Fla., was charged at 12:02 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and failure to keep right. Sheriff’s Deputies stopped a vehicle on Porter Avenue in Pomfret for failure to keep right and Alvarex-Colon was identified as the operator. Following an investigation, he was charged and released to a sober third party. He will appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.
- POMFRET – Kristen M. Maynard, 21, of Cherry Creek, was charged at 2:18 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and failure to signal turn. Sheriff’s patrol stopped a vehicle for failing to signal a turn from Porter Road onto Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. The operator was identified as Maynard. Following an investigation she was taken into custody, charged and released to a sober third party. She will appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.
ELLICOTT – Jaime L. Condella, 36, of 12529 Bone Run Road, Frewsburg, was charged on Sunday with unlawful second-degree harassment, first-degree harassment and first-degree criminal contempt. The Ellicott Police Department responded to a domestic dispute at a local motel between Condella and a female victim. During the investigation, Condella struck the female victim and refused to allow her to leave the location. Police took Condella into custody and before Ellicott Town Justice for arraignment. Several hours later, Ellicott police responded to the hotel again as Condella had returned to that location and was trying to gain entry into the room of the female victim. He made threats of bodily harm to the victim even after he had been issued an order of protection to stay away from her. He was taken into custody, arraigned before an Ellicott judge and held in the Chautauqua County Jail.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Christopher Stevens, 37, and Steven Riley, 45, both of Jamestown, were charged at 8 p.m. on Saturday with petit larceny. Officers responded to the 7-Eleven Convenience Store at 340 Allen St. for a shoplifting complaint. It was reported that two males left the store without paying for some merchandise. Officers reviewed the video surveillance and were able to locate the suspects. They were transported to the Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment.
Jill M. Saxton, 22, of Jamestown, was charged at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday with improper right turn at an intersection, driving while intoxicated, and driving with .08 of 1 percent or more of alcohol. A vehicle was observed failing to keep right as it turned off South Main Street onto Harrison Street. The vehicle was stopped and Saxton was found to be operating it in an intoxicated condition. Saxton was charged and will be arraigned in Jamestown City Court.
