Edward F. Domenico, Sr.

FORESTVILLE – Edward F. Domenico, Sr., 92, of King Road, Forestville, also a short-term resident of St. Columban’s on the Lake, Silver Creek, died Saturday, Sept. 21, at Buffalo General Hospital, following a short illness. He was born in Rochester, on Oct. 7, 1920, the son of the late Anthony and Rose (Geraci) Domenico.

Mr. Domenico was a graduate of Silver Creek High School, class of 1938 and was a vegetable and fruit farmer. He was the former owner of the Hanford Market, also owned the former Sunset Frozen Foods Canning Factory in Fredonia and had a produce route delivering to area stores and restaurants. He was a member of the former St. John Bosco RC Church, Sheridan, was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Social Club of Silver Creek and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Domenico was a former member of the Forestville School Board, serving for seven years, and was a director for Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Center, and was a past member of the former Silver Creek Lions Club. He enjoyed old cars, traveling and his grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Maureen Daugherty, of Forestville, Donna Marie (Thomas) Murray, of Princeton, N.J.; two sons: Edward F. (Traci) Domenico, Jr., Timothy P. (Sylvia) Domenico, both of Forestville; and one sister, Betty Jane Muscarella, of Erie, Pa. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren, 1 expected great-grandson and two great-great grandchildren.

Also surviving are his dear friend Ethel Kowalewski of Silver Creek and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marion J. (Olsen) Domenico, whom he married Dec. 12, 1945, in St. Ann’s RC Church, Buffalo, and who died Dec. 3, 2003, by an infant son, Christopher Domenico, a son Michael Domenico, who died May 23, 2008, a brother, Albert Domenico, and a sister, Rita Gugino.

Friends are welcome to call Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St., Forestville, from where Prayer Services will be held Thursday morning at 9:15, followed by A Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Central Avenue, Silver Creek, at 10. Interment will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
