Saxton Leads Way In Panama Football Win

PANAMA – Kyle Saxton was the rushing standout and Steve Enlow was the scoring standout for Panama in its 34-8 verdict over Pine Valley in Class DD football.

Saxon rushed for 182 yards on 21 attempts, but didn’t score and Enlow tallied three times in grinding out 90 yards on 17 chances for Panama (2-1, 2-1).

Enlow went over from the 6-yard line to get the winners on the scoreboard first in the first quarter. In the second half, he reached the end zone on runs of 7 yards and 1 yard.

Bryce Payne connected with Eric Schutt for a 11-yard touchdown and the same combination clicked for the conversion pass for Panama.

Payne wound up 7-of-10 passing for 86 yards.

Ricky Eddy galloped 19 yards for another Panama touchdown and Jack Payne kicked two extra points.

Pine Valley (0-2, 0-3) averted the shutout in the final eight minutes when Mike Isura cracked over from the 3 and Zach Sticek hauled in the conversion pass from Dylan Granger.

Tackle Jacob Short and middle linebacker Dylan Bergman had 12 tackles apiece while end Dylan Mescall contributed eight stops as Panama held Pine Valley to just 35 yards rushing.
