CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

HANOVER – A 17-year-old male youth was charged at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 with trespassing. Deputies investigated an alleged trespass complaint that occurred on Alleghany Road in the town of Hanover. It was later determined that the youth went onto the complainant’s property without consent. The youth was issued an appearance ticket to answer to the charge at the Town of Hanover Court at a later date.

RIPLEY – Rudy J. Damonti, 31, of 105 W. Main St. Ripley, was charged at 7 p.m. on Wednesday with second-degree harassment. The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Friday, Sept. 13 in the town of Ripley where Damonti struck a female in the face with a closed fist. He will appear in court on a later date to answer to the charge.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Ryan C. Snow, 31, was charged at 10:11 p.m. on Wednesday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to signal turn and unsafe start. Jamestown Police Department patrol observed a vehicle fail to stop at the intersection of Hazeltine Avenue and Baker Street. The vehicle then accelerated at a high rate of speed west on Newland Avenue. Officers were able to stop the vehicle on Newland Avenue at City View Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Snow and upon investivation he was found to be intoxicated. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and charged.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

BUSTI – Dustin M. Newman, 24, of 133 Hallock St., Jamestown, was charged at 10 a.m. on Thursday with a bench warrant served and failure to appear in the Town of Busti Court on an original charge of petit larceny. He was arraigned and sent to the county jail with $1,000 bail.

LAKEWOOD – Nicholas N. Elkovitch, 23, of 1162 W. 32nd St., Erie, was charged at 3:50 a.m. on Thursday with unlawful possession of marijuana, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and speed in zone. A Lakewood-Busti Police Officer was on patrol on West Fairmount Avenue in the village of Lakewood. The officer observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed for zone and stopped the vehicle. While speaking with the operator, Elkovitch, he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and upon further investigation his privilege to operate a motor vehicle in New York state was found to be suspended. Elkovitch will appear in the Town of Busti Court at a later date.

LAKEWOOD – Jorge L. Rivera, 30, of Jamestown, was charged at 2 p.m. on Thursday with failure to pay a fine. A bench warrant was served out of the town of Busti. After paying the fine, he was released.
