CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

EAST OTTO – Harold H. Izard, 74, of Hammond Hill Road, East Otto, was charged at 1:50 p.m. Saturday with issuing a bad check. He was charged on a warrant out of the town of Little Valley, was arraigned and released. Izard is due back in court on a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

MAYVILLE – Nicholas A. Lombardo, 29, of Oakmont, Pa., was charged at 11:35 p.m. on Tuesday with driving while intoxicated and unsafe starting. Sheriff’s patrol observed a vehicle exiting the Kwik Fill parking lot on Water Street in Mayville. The vehicle exited the lot without stopping before entering the roadway and squealed tires while rapidly accelerating. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Lombardo. Following an investigation, he was taken into custody, charged and later released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court on a future date.

NORTH HARMONY – Andrew J. Sheldon, 27, of 2181 Brooks St., Ashville, was charged at 10:13 p.m. on Tuesday with petit larceny. Sheldon stole a Craftsman riding lawnmower from his former residence. He was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in the Town of North Harmony Court at a later date.

POMFRET – Kathie M. Trippi, 43, of Dunkirk was charged at 11:58 p.m. on Tuesday with failure to keep right, unlicensed operator and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Sheriff’s Deputies on patrol on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret observed a westbound vehicle cross the center line of the roadway into the eastbound land of traffic. The vehicle was stopped and Trippi was identified as the operator. Through an investigation, deputies found that Trippi’s driver’s license was suspended on several different occasions. She was take into custody and later arraigned in the Town of Pomfret Court where bail was set at $1,000 cash/$2,000 property bond. She did post bail to the Town of Pomfret Court and was released. She will appear in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date to further answer the charges.

HARMONY – Kelly L. Davis, 35, of 941 Blockville Road, Ashville, was charged at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 with petit larceny. Davis allegedly stole money from a produce stand located at 5626 Niobe Road, town of Harmony. She was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charge in the Town of Harmony Court at a later date and time.

CHAUTAUQUA – William E. Ostagen, 43, of Maple Street, Mayville, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt Tuesday. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a violation of an order of protection at the Snow Ridge Motel on Route 394 at 7:11 p.m. An investigation discovered that Ostagen violated a stay-away order by having contact with an individual. He was taken into custody without incident and arraigned in Town of Chautauqua Court. Ostagen was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $500 bail and will appear in court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Charles A. Strong Sr., 52, of 239 Newton Ave., Jamestown, was charged at 11:55 p.m. on Tuesday with first-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment. Jamestown Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of an intoxicated male that was fighting with the complainant. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated that her ex-boyfriend, Charles A. Strong Sr., had arrived shortly before she called 911 and that he was very upset with her. The caller stated that Strong had started arguing with her and that he became upset, violent and ended up braking numerous things in her apartment. At one point, the caller stated that Strong picked up a wooden chair and threatened her with bodily harm. While investigating the incident, officers learned that the caller had a valid order of protection for Strong to stay away from her. Strong was placed into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail where he was charged.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

LAKEWOOD – Steven A. Germonto, 30, of Sheffield, was charged at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the Wal-Mart parking lot. He was issued an appearance ticket to be in the Town of Busti Court at a later date.
