JAKES Youth Day Set For Saturday

FALCONER – The Chautauqua Lake Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is holding a youth day through its J.A.K.E.S. program. This event will be held Saturday at the Falconer Rod & Gun Club.

The event is free to youths age 5-17 and will start at 9 a.m. and will run until after lunch, which is being donated for all by the Falconer Rod & Gun Club.

The day includes but is not limited to: Fly tying and information about fly fishing, turkey biology and habitat, animal track identification, shooting sports, firearms and bow and arrow with certified instructors and shooting ranges, trapping and coyote hunting information, water dog demonstrations, turkey call training, a DEC officer talk and nature walk.

Please call 782-2679 and ask for Lisa or 487-9020 and ask for Dave. Pre-registering assures they have adequate supplies and food. Otherwise, walk-in registrations are accepted as well.

No costs are involved. The NWTF encourages people to come learn about hunting, conserving and sharing, and become a Junior Acquiring Knowledge Ethics and Skills (J.A.K.E.S.)
