James Gordon Brown

James Gordon Brown, 65, of Ocala, Fl passed away on Tuesday evening, September 10, after an ex-tended illness. Mr. Brown was born in 1947 in Jamestown, NY, the son of Burton and Joyce (Cook) Brown and raised on “Swede Hill.” He attended CV Bush School, Jefferson Junior High School, graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967 and was a Vietnam veteran serving with the US Air Force. He was a long-time resident of Erie, PA employed at General Electric until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father: Burton James Brown. He is survived by his wife, Donna Kirkland Brown of Ocala, Fl, several step-children and grandchildren, his mother Joyce Brown of NC, brother Bill Brown of Bemus Point, NY, Bob Brown of SC, Sisters Julie Brown Robbins and Sue Brown Mellnik of NC and several nieces and nephews. Jim was an avid sports fan, in particular, the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a heart of gold and a terrific sense of humor. A Memori-al Service will be held on 9/21 at 1 p.m. in Ocala, Fl.
