Poland Seniors To Meet Wednesday
The Town of Poland Seniors will meet for a potluck lunch on Wednesday. Seniors attending should take a dish to pass and their table service. Bonnie Piazza, Rose Marie Cornell and Sandy Jones are the committee.
Forty-three members and four guests met recently in the Kennedy fire Hall for a potluck lunch. Walt and Julie Heilman, Clayton and Barb Brown, David and Dee Covey were the committee. Sally Caniff led table grace and Donna Cross called tables and the meeting to order with a flag salute and song, accompanied by Lou Ball on piano. Reports by the secretary and treasurer were approved as read. New member Sandy Tompsett was welcomed.
Celebrating birthdays were Ms. Cornell, Neil Ormond, Liz Barnes, Dorothea Giambelluca, Gloria Kelly, Ms. Covey and Shirley Schauers. Observing wedding anniversaries were Lester and June Town, 70 years, and Vern and Sandy Ahlgren, 32 years.
Mrs. Ahlgren and Chris Anderson, of Heritage Senior Living, presented a program on a new way of living.
Sally Canniff, trip chairwoman, spoke on the trip to Cambridge Springs for a dinner theater, the Sept. 24 cruise on The Summer Wind and Oct. 8 trip to Ride the Rails which includes a breakfast stop in Erie, the historic Jefferson Depot Village, Ride the Rails on the ACJ Scenic Railroad, lunch in Grand Rivers Cellar, a stop at Catherine Christmas and return to the Robinson Apple Orchard.
