Vac Shoppe Donates To Meals On Wheels

FALCONER – The Falconer Vac Shoppe has donated $350 to Meals on Wheels of the Jamestown Area to help provide home-delivered meals to the community’s elderly.

Falconer Vac Shoppe, located at 15 W. Main St., Falconer, sold 35 units of three specially designated Panasonic vacuum cleaner models between Jan. 1 and May 31.

Ten dollars from each sale was donated to Meals on Wheels.

“I’m glad that we could help an organization like Meals on Wheels,” said Brian Nelson, owner of Falconer Vac Shoppe.

“We’ll be sure to do this promotion again next year, so we can help even more people.”

Such fundraisers help Meals on Wheels provide home-delivered meals in Chautauqua County. Nelson said that he saw first-hand how the community is helped by Meals on Wheels, when a tenant of his received the essential service to remain in his home.

“Brian has been an avid supporter for Meals on Wheels of the Jamestown Area and challenges himself to be more successful every year,” said Nancy Lahnen, president of the board of directors for Meals on Wheels.

“He surpassed his goal supporting our organization this year which means the people of our community will continue to receive nutritious meals delivered to them. Thank you so much, Brian, for your continued support,” she said.

Barrie Yochim, executive director for Meals on Wheels, said, “Meals on Wheels is very appreciative that Brian and Falconer Vac Shoppe could hold this promotion, for the benefit of our area’s senior citizens.

“For the second time, Brian was able to use his own business to sell these great vacuum cleaners, and at the same time donate to help Meals on Wheels. We both benefit from that effort.”
