Harry B. Tome

Harry B. Tome, 91, of 16 Yohe Road, Corydon Township, Pa., passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.

Born April 14, 1922, in Corydo, Pa., he was a son of the late Jay and Bessie (Blair) Tome. He attended schools in Corydon and Kinzua.

On Nov. 27, 1942, in Randolph, he married Marion (Freeman) Tome, who died on Sept. 11, 1996.

He was a resident of Corydon until 1964, when the Army Corps of Engineers made him leave the family farm. For more than 40 years, was the caretaker and sexton for Riverview-Corydon Cemetery.

Surviving is one daughter, Margaret “Marty” (Ken) Hayes, of Troutdale, Ore.: three grandchildren: Tracy Nystrom, Jacob Hayes and Sarah Medford; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and two sons: Harry “Eddie” Tome in January of 1992 and Robert T. Tome in March of 1998.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday Sept. 13, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc. 33 South Ave., Bradford, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Committal services and burial will be in Riverview-Corydon Cemetery.
