Area Police Reports


Melissa R. Johnson, 32, of Jamestown was charged at 12:48 a.m. on Tuesday with improper/no signal, driving while intoxicated and driving with .08 of 1 percent or more of alcohol. A vehicle was observed on McDaniel Avenue, turning west onto Fairmount Avenue, without signaling. The vehicle was stopped and Johnson was observed operating the vehicle. Johnson was charged and will be arraigned in the Jamestown City Court. Ellicott Police assisted at the scene.

Terrance McCrae, 33, was charged at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree obstruction of governmental administration. Jamestown Police Department Officers were called to the area of 610 Newland Ave. on the report of a physical domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers could hear a male and female yelling at each other in an upstairs apartment. A female let police into the apartment after telling them she was home alone. She advised officers that there were no other occupants in the apartment. While searching the residence, McCrae was found hiding in the attic of the apartment. McCrae refused to cooperate with the police and after a brief investigation, it was learned that the 27-year-old female had an order of protection for him to stay away from her. McCrae was transported to city jail without further incident.


DAYTON – Daniel A. Hart, 20, of 886 Main St., West Seneca, was charged at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 with false personation during a traffic stop on Route 62 in the town of Dayton. During the stop, Hart repeatedly gave patrol officers a false name because he thought he had an active warrant out of another jurisdiction. He was processed, released on an appearance ticket and is due back in the Town of Dayton Court at a later date.
