Hope’s Windows, Frewsburg Central School Lead Divisions In Battle Of Businesses
Hope’s Windows with 500 points leads the Large Division while Frewsburg Central School remains the leader with 400 points in the Small Division after the second day of the YMCA Battle of the Businesses on Sunday.
The Jamestown Teacher’s Association team of Marty Stockwell, Ken Ricker, Monty Shields and Joe Salvaggio won the men’s golf in the Large Division with a score of 29 at Maplehurst Country Club. Hope’s Windows and TitanX Engine Cooling took second and third place, respectively.
For the Women’s Large Division, the WCA Hospital team of Lisa Payne, Dianne French, Mary Bosek and Rosemary Billquist shot a 36 to top second-place finisher JTA. Hope’s Windows came in third place.
In the Small Division golf tournament, Frewsburg Central School took first with a 31. The Jock Shop & CSI came in second while Panama Central School took third place points. The SKF Aeroengine men’s bowling team defended title at the Jamestown Bowling Company. The winning foursome for the Large Division champs were Ryan Colburn, Ron Holter, Brandon Miller and John Williams who rolled a 2,614 three-game series.
WCA Hospital (2,170) and Cummins (2,087) took second and third.
Jody Bevacqua, Kim Johnson, Stephanie Higbee and Lyn McIntyre of Cummins rolled a 1,986 for the Large Division women’s win. SKF Aeroengine (1,671) and GA Family Services of Lutheran (1,631) were second and third.
Frewsburg Central School posted a 2,136 series for the Small Division title to earn the 100 points. Jamestown Mattress (2,133) and Matco Tools (1,829) followed with the next winning points.
At the pickleball tournament at the Lakewood YMCA, Hope’s Windows’ Adam Irgang and Mark LeBaron seized the win for the Large Division with a final 11-5 win against Falconer Central School.
WCA Hospital finished in third place.
In the Small Division, Frewsburg Teachers’ John Davis and Jamie Sposato finished first with a victory over Hanson Sign Companies’ Ann and Gene Aversa.
Libera, Inc. placed third.
The Battle of the Businesses continues today with the Small Division round-robin volleyball starting at 5:45 p.m. at the Jamestown and Lakewood YMCAs. The single-elimination laser tag competition for the Large Division will start at 6 p.m. at The Gateway Center at 31 Water St.in Jamestown.
The Battle Zone will be set up at the Jamestown YMCA with refreshments provided by Pepsi Beverages Company and team results and scores.
