He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his dad and uncle. He also enjoyed many hours of woodworking on toys for his grandchildren in his workshop.
George was member of the Fluvanna Community Church and served in many areas including deacon, church treasurer, and substitute Sunday school teacher. He also enjoyed the various church groups, most recently the sipping seniors that met weekly.
