Bridge To Close Wednesday

CHERRY CREEK – Chautauqua County bridge No. 853 on County Route 72 (Bard Road) will be closed to all traffic, effective Wednesday. The closure is due to the replacement of the structure. A detour will be posted. The closure shall remain in effect until the replacement structure is complete.

Thrift Shop Has ‘New’ Fall Clothes

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St., between East Fourth and Fifth streets, Jamestown, re-opens this week with all “new” fall clothing for men, women (including plus sizes), and children, small household items, and jewelry, all in good, clean condition. New fall hours for sales and receiving are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; receiving only Tuesday 9 a.m. to noon. There is off-street parking available at the church parking lot just off of East Fifth Street. This is a nonprofit enterprise with all proceeds going to local outreach, and has been in operation for 31 years at the same location. The shop is run by local volunteers, many of whom are with RSVP.

Historical Society Meeting Set

RANDOLPH – The Randolph Historical Society will hold its first meeting of the fall on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Randolph Municipal Building on Main Street. Ted Brown will be presenting a program on “Randolph Remembrances.” The public is invited to attend.

Greeting Card Class To Be Held

FLUVANNA – The Fluvanna Free Library will hold an adult greeting card class Wednesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost for supplies will be $4 and participants will complete with two greeting cards. If you would like to attend call the library at 487-1773 to register so supplies will be ready for you.

CRYB Fundraiser Set For Saturday

The Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet will be holding a Bob Evans Community Fundraiser on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bob Evans Restaurant, 2798 N. Main St. in Jamestown. Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of sales when presented with a specially marked flyer at checkout time. Flyers may be obtained from any CRYB dancer, teacher or Parent Guild member or by stopping by the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet Studio at 9 Falconer St. in Jamestown. The community fundraiser coincides with the CRYB Nutcracker 2013 auditions being held from 1-3 p.m. at the studio. Coin Show To Be Held Sunday

The Jamestown Coin Club will hold its annual coin show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Celoron Legion Herman Kent Post 777, Jackson Avenue, off Fairmount Avenue. Admission is free. Coin dealers will be available to buy, sell and appraise United States, ancient and foreign coins.

Connect Suicide Prevention Set

DUNKIRK – Chautauqua Opportunities will host a Connect Suicide Prevention/Postvention Training on Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Connections North Building, 10825 Bennett Road, Dunkirk.
