Emma F. Prine
CLYMER – Emma F. Prine, 82, of 731 Clymer Sherman Road, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 2013) at Cor-ry Memorial Hospital.
She was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Busti, the daughter of Ernest and Irene Smith Haley.
She had been employed at the former Monitor Furniture Co. and Chautauqua Hardware.
Emma was a life member and past president of the Gerry Fire Auxiliary, Falconer Legion Ladies Auxiliary, where she had served as president several times, Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary, where she was a past president and continued on to be Eighth District president, Mayville VFW 8647, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, chapter 47 of Jamestown, Chautau-qua County Joint Veterans Council, 8ET40 Salon 649, and the DAV Auxiliary Department of New York, commander. She had been a volunteer at the Gerry Rodeo grounds for many years.
She had served many fish fries at the Falconer Ameri-can Legion and enjoyed cross stitch, embroidering, word search, and her family and friends.
Emma is survived by a brother, Frederick Haley of Jamestown; and her sisters-in-law: Dolores Haley of Jamestown and Ruth Haley of Texas.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick J. Prine, whom she married June 19, 1953; a son, Barry Prine; four brothers: Clyde, Robert, Chester and Allen Haley; and a sister, Ethel Spencer.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Noah Livingston, pastor of the Abbe Reformed Church, Clymer, will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
