Early Morning Raid Leads To Charges
Two Jamestown residents were taken into custody on cocaine possession charges following the execution of a search warrant Tuesday morning.
Jamestown police charged Angel Pacheco, 38, and Gloria Pacheco, 33, both of Water Street, with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Narcotics investigators with the Jamestown Police Department, along with the city SWAT Team and State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, executed the warrant shortly before 6 a.m. following a months-long investigation, Capt. Robert Samuelson said.
“This was an ongoing investigation that involved cocaine and the sale of cocaine,” said Samuelson, who added there were children inside the residence at the time of the arrests.
Investigators found quantities of cocaine and marijuana as well as cash in their search.
Angel and Gloria Pacheco were arraigned in Jamestown City Court on Tuesday afternoon and committed to Chautauqua County Jail without bail. Both are scheduled to return to court Aug. 30, a court clerk said.
In November both were charged with second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a class D felony, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully growing marijuana. Police found the subjects to be in possession of more than 400 marijuana plants, 2 pounds of dried marijuana and a quantity of cash during a massive search that resulted in the arrest of seven people.
In November 2011 Angel Pacheco was charged with drug possession following a large detail by police to check parolees and probationers. Police allegedly found the city resident to be in possession of marijuana as well as another controlled substance.
