Schank Earns Catt. County Youth Bureau’s Citizenship Award
Dr. Anthony Evans, executive director of the Cattaraugus County Youth Bureau, announced that Rachel Schank is this week’s featured Youth Citizenship Award recipient. Rachel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schank and a graduate of Randolph Central School.
Throughout her high school career, Rachel belonged to and served as an officer to many clubs and organizations. In addition to being a band and chorus member throughout middle and high school, she also served as secretary and treasurer for both and also as president of band. Rachel belonged to and served as treasurer of the Drama Club, Art Guild, National Honor Society and yearbook.
She was also a member of the Spanish Club throughout high school.
Rachel put her math skills to use tutoring other students for two years. She was the recipient of the RIT Achievement in Computing Award in 2012 and a delegate to Girls’ State. Her musical talents were recognized in 2008 and 2012 in Disney’s Performing Arts and as a participant at All-State in 2011.
In the community, Rachel served as the youth representative on her Parish Council. She also served as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer for eight seasons and participated in fundraising for the Make a Wish Foundation.
