Ivan Harold “Ike” Hannold

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. – Ivan Harold “Ike” Hannold, 63, of New York Ave., Lakewood, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, in Veterans Hospital in Buffalo, N.Y.

Ike was born Aug. 22, 1949, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Ivan Monroe Hannold and Reba Katherine Weston.

He attended Sherman Central School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War era from Aug. 24, 1966, to April 26, 1968. Ike worked various jobs throughout the years in New York, Pennsylvania and the Carolinas. Prior to his disability, he worked locally as a carpenter for local area contractors.

He was a member of the Randolph American Le-gion Post 181, Randolph Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 2273 and Randolph Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6533.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as his love for fast cars and stock car racing.

He is survived by two brothers: Barry and Gary Hannold, with whom he shared a home in Lakewood; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; two sisters: Imogene “Jean” Triviz and Mary Hannold; and seven brothers: Francis, Richard, Theodore, Darwin, Robert, Larry and Edwin Hannold.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, his birthday (Aug. 22, 2013), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, NY 14772. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home and conducted by the Randolph American Legion Post 181. Burial will be in the Randolph Cemetery.
