Randolph Fire Damages Pizzeria
RANDOLPH – A fire heavily damaged a pizzeria in Randolph on Thursday morning.
Fire investigators with the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office were still on scene at Jumbroni’s Pizza and Wings, 4 Jamestown St., through late morning.
According to officials, the fire started around 7 a.m.
Randolph was assisted by East Randolph, Little Valley, Kennedy and Conewango fire departments.
“When we arrived we found fire and heavy smoke coming from the structure,” Randolph Fire Chief Don McElwain said at the scene. “We did an aggressive interior attack and were able to push the fire to the back of the structure.”
McElwain said the fire appeared to have started in the rear of the structure near the kitchen. The fire was under control in about an hour, he said.
Fire investigators said a cause would be determined in “a couple of days.”
It’s unclear how much damage the structure sustained. Fire crews were still on scene as of 10:30 a.m.
