City Man Charged In Two Incidents Wednesday
A Jamestown man was committed to jail without bail following an assault and burglary Wednesday.
City police charged Justin B. Estus, 18, with felony second-degree burglary and third-degree assault. Officers responded at 3 a.m. for a report of someone hearing windows breaking at a residence on Crescent Street.
During their investigation, police learned Estus was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute with a female victim. During the dispute, police said Estus struck the victim in the face, knocking out one of her teeth. No further information on the victim’s injuries was available.
Later Wednesday morning, officers again responded to Crescent Street for a report of a burglary. It was reported that a male had entered a residence through a pried window.
The male, later identified as Estus, was confronted by the homeowner and fled the area, a police report said.
A warrant for Estus’ arrest was produced in Jamestown City Court for the assault. The Jamestown man turned himself into police and was later charged.
Estus was arraigned in city court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, a city court clerk said Thursday.
