CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
PORTLAND – Christopher A. Tanner, 22, of West Main Street, Brocton, was charged at 9:40 p.m. on Aug. 8 with third-degree assault. Deputies responded to a call of an assault on Webster Road. Upon arrival and following an investigation, it was found that Tanner was allegedly involved in a verbal argument with another subject. During the argument Tanner allegedly pulled out a knife and swung it at another subject. The person sustained a cut to their hand. The fight was broken up, and Tanner fled the area. Tanner was later located and issued an appearance ticket to be in court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – Christopher M. Nowak, 23, of Angola, was charged at 8:42 p.m. on Monday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, no seatbelt and failure to signal turn. Deputies observed a vehicle violating vehicle and traffic laws. The driver was later identified as Nowak. He was released to a third party to appear in Silver Creek Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Cory R. Anthony, 26, of Linwood Avenue, Lakewood, was charged at 10:25 p.m. on Wednesday with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sales of alcohol to a person under 21. Police responded to a local bar for a complaint of an underage person being served. It was found that Anthony allegedly served the underage patron. He was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
