LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Jennifer S. Meacham, 33, of Jamestown, was charged at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday with petit larceny. Meacham was taken into custody on an arrest warrant due to an incident that happened at Wal-Mart on Fairmount Avenue on Aug. 3. Police said she allegedly took merchandise without paying and later exchanged the items for cash. Meacham was issued an appearance ticket to be in Busti Court at a later date.
Bradley W. Howard, 22, of Hern Avenue, was charged at 8:30 p.m. on Monday with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and second-degree harassment. Officers responded to a past-tense domestic dispute and spoke with a victim who said Howard allegedly pushed her to the ground and slapped and choked her. Howard was taken into custody on a warrant and was arraigned in Busti Court. He was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Robert L. Holland, 27, of Forest Park, Jamestown, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. An arrest warrant was served on Holland for allegedly making harassing phone calls to a resident in Ellicott. He was arraigned and committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Candace A. Calhoun, 53, of Hazzard Street, Jamestown, was charged on Tuesday with fifth-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and misuse of food stamps. Calhoun was issued appearance tickets after it was alleged that from Feb. 1, 2012, to May 31, 2012, she failed to report that her son was employed and receiving income while he was active on the benefit case. Calhoun received $2,798.44 in benefits that she was not entitled to receive due to her failure to report the income. She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
