PSC Hearings To Air This Week

Recent Public Service Commission hearings regarding the potential re-powering of the NRG plant in Dunkirk were taped by Fredonia Access 5 and are currently airing on Access Channel 5 at 4 and 10 p.m. through Friday. The program runs over two hours. Access Channel 5 is available to cable viewers in the Mayville, Chautauqua, North Harmony, Sherman, Westfield and Portland areas. Viewers should note that all area public access channels have been dropped from Time Warner’s analog service, but can be received on digital service with a converter or on a digital television that has been recently autoscanned.

Library To Host Hobbit Party

LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood Memorial Library will be hosting a Hobbit Party just for teens. The Hobbit Party is for teens, ages of 11-18. Food and drink will be provided along with music, trivia, prizes and more. The Hobbit Party will be Tuesday, at the Lakewood Memorial Library located at 12 Summit St., from 6-7 p.m. Teens are encouraged to come dressed as a hobbit for the chance to win a prize.

Band Boosters Plan Fundraiser

The Falconer Marching Band Boosters will be having a Pizza Hut Fundraiser night on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Foote Avenue Pizza Hut in Jamestown. The marching band will receive 20 percent of eat-in, delivery, and takeout of orders that have the marching band supporter slip. Supporters can get a slip from any marching band member or you may contact Christine Wright at Falconer Central School.

Bible School Begins Today

FORESTVILLE – Vacation Bible school will be held today through Friday from 6-8 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Park Street, Forestville. Everyone is welcome. Helpers are also invited to assist. Call Karen Kaminski 965-2619 for further information.

Library To Present Puppet Theater

STOCKTON – The Mary E. Seymour Memorial Library will present the Omnipresent Puppet Theater’s production of “Gumshoe McMonocle and the Strange Case of Rumplesomething” on Tuesday, at 2 p.m. in the library. This free, 45-minute performance is open to all children and adults who enjoy fairy tales and detective thrillers. The Seymour library is located at 22 N. Main St. in Stockton. Seniors To Meet Tuesday

Sinclairville Seniors will meet at noon on Tuesday in the Brigg’s pavilion, Stockton Fireman’s Grounds, Stockton. Persons attending should take a dish to pass. All seniors are welcome to attend. For more information, call 962-8411. Thirteen members and two guests attended a recent picnic in the Fireman’s Grounds. Carolyn Hendrickson, assisted by Elaine Titus, led games of bingo. Discussion was on a bus trip to Erie in October to see a musical and dinner in the Station Theater.

VFW Auxiliary Plans Meeting

The Veterans of Foreign Wars 557 Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the post. Members attending should take a dish to pass for a picnic.
