Richard C. Javens

FREWSBURG – Richard C. Javens, 87, of 14 E. Main St., Frewsburg, died Thursday (Aug. 8, 2013), at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1925, in Warren, Pa., the son of Arthur and Mabel Nelson Javens.

Richard was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, and before retiring had been employed at Falconer Plate Glass for over forty years.

He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lodge 145, Scottish Rite Bodies Past Most Wise Master, Chapter of Rose Croix, Jamestown Consistory, Ismailia Shrine Temple of Buffalo, past president of the Jamestown Shrine Club, and Royal Order of Jesters Court 22.

Richard was survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorna Sanden Javens; three children: Linda (Gary) Shott of Cape Coral, Fla., Rodney ( Marla Sue) Javens of Frewsburg and Ross Alan Javens of Amherst; five grandchildren: Lisa Shott of Florida, Jeff Shott of Tennessee, Stephanie Javens of Jamestown and Sarah and Joshua Javens of Frewsburg; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Javens; and two sisters, Mildred Nollinger and Ruth Young.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Ron Lemon, pastor of the Koinonia Christian Fellowship, will officiate.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, Pa.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg, where Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 145 will conduct a service at 4 p.m.
