LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

Richard A. Johnston, 45, of Allen Street, Jamestown, was charged at 2:25 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se, suspended registration, inadequate brake lights and loud exhaust. Police were on patrol on Forest Avenue Extension and observed a westbound vehicle with a loud exhaust and a brake light out. Johnston was found to have a suspended license and was allegedly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and will be in Busti Court at a later date.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Joseph A. Ferino, 45, was charged at 7:08 p.m. on Sunday with endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded to Spring Street to assist the Jamestown Fire Department and Alstar Ambulance. Ferino had been found unresponsive by his 3-year-old son and became disorderly when first responders attempted to treat him. Ferino then began acting aggressively and chased his son. He had to be separated by members of the fire department and was taken into custody. Ferino was held pending arraignment.

Michael J. Bartok, 39, of Greenhurst Village, was charged at 2:36 a.m. on Sunday with failure to keep right, refusal of breath screening test, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a van that failed to keep right. An investigation found Bartok was intoxicated and he was taken into custody. Police learned Bartok had a prior DWI conviction in 2007, making Sunday’s charge a felony.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

HANOVER – Charles J. Hall, 44, of Sanduski, Ohio, was charged at 12:50 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater, failure to keep right and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Allegany Road for traffic violations. Hall was identified as the driver and was later found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and released with traffic tickets. Hall is due in Hanover Court at a later date.

CASSADAGA – Charles R. Corwin, 38, of Niagara Falls, was charged at 2:54 a.m. on Sunday with failure to stop at a stop sign, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or greater. Deputies observed a vehicle allegedly not make a complete stop at Putnam Road at Maple Avenue. Corwin was identified as the driver and was found to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody and released with traffic tickets. Corwin will be in Stockton Court at a later date.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Mary A. Doan, 56, of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, was charged on Saturday with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater. A concerned citizen called police to report a vehicle driven erratically on Route 60. The driver was later found in the drive-thru lane at McDonalds. While speaking to Doan, officers could smell alcohol. A field sobriety test was administered, which Doan allegedly failed. She was taken into custody, arraigned in Ellicott Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. Doan will be back in Ellicott Court at a later date.
