Yard, Bake Sale Begins Friday
LAKEWOOD – The Lakewood American Legion Post 1286 Auxiliary members will host their annual yard and bake sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The event is open to the public.
Parenting Event Reservations Due
A parent training event including topics of “The Kitchen Sink on Your Teenager’s Brain” and “45 Minutes to Social Media Brilliance” featuring Brock Morgan, speaker, writer and youth ministry expert will be held Saturday, Aug. 24 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 410 N. Marco Polo Club To Hold Dinner
The Marco Polo Club will hold a spaghetti dinner Saturday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. The club is located at 1027 E. Second St., Jamestown.

Set For Saturday
SINCLAIRVILLE – A self-guided tour of historic Sinclairville, starting at the Sinclairville Free Library, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. There will also be refreshments and door prizes. Tickets are $5 for adults, $2 for children under 14 and free for those under 5. Purchase of a ticket will include a historical brochure and entry for the door prizes. All proceeds will benefit the library. A PowerPoint presentation will be available for those who are unable to walk or in the event of rain. Tickets are also now available at $2 each or three for $5 for an opportunity to win a Nexus 7 tablet, with the drawing to be held during the Sinclairville History Fair on Sept. 14.
WESTFIELD – The Blue Star Mothers will hold a chicken and rib barbecue starting at noon Saturday at the Crossroads Craft and Farm Market, 6017 Westfield-Sherman Road, Westfield. The fundraiser will help the Blue Star Mothers with Christmas mailings. There will also be a car show at Crossroads on Saturday. Pre-sale tickets are available from any Blue Star Mother and cost $9. Football Can Drive Set For Saturday
The Bemus Point Midget Football League will hold their annual can drive Saturday. The collection area will be at the Bemus Point bus garage. Redeemable cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Players will also be driven around in vehicles throughout the Bemus school district and will be identifiable by wearing their team jersey. You may also drop off your cans or bottles at Don’s Car Wash any time and let them know you wish for the proceeds to go to the BPFML. The BPMFL is part of the Lakeshore Midget Football league with players ranging from 9-13 years of age.
