Donald F. ‘‘Sonny’’ Howard

SOUTH DAYTON – Donald F. ”Sonny” Howard, 81, a farmer and cat-tle hauler for the family farm in South Dayton, N.Y., died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Lake Shore Hospital in Irving, N.Y.

He was born April 18, 1932, in South Dayton, N.Y., the son of the late Francis and Margaret (Seilmen) Howard.

Sonny also worked for Hills & Matteson Lime Spreading and Dump Truck Service and Thorp & Mann Feed Mill for several years. He will be remembered for his trusting and generous heart.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Arnold Howard, whom he married on Nov. 23, 1963, of South Dayton, N.Y.; a son, D. Robert (Anna) Howard of Hampton, Ga.; a daughter, De-borah Lampson of Castile, N.Y.; five sisters: Betty Lou Richter of Leon, N.Y., Peggy Wilcox of Forestville, N.Y., Mary Ann Wutz of South Dayton, N.Y., Frances Waterman of Forestville, N.Y., and Anna Colvin of South Dayton, N.Y.; a brother, Richard Howard of South Dayton, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Howard; and two sisters: Nancy Howard and Jean No-bles.

Visitation will be held at Hills Funeral Chapel 478 Balcom Corners, South Dayton, on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, from 7-9 p.m.

A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
