Every year, the Greater Woodlawn Credit Union chooses a local organization to help support during their Customer Appreciation Days.
The organization sends volunteers to help cook hot dogs, and people donate money to the mission.
This year, Kim Woodfield, branch manager, and her staff chose Hospice Chautauqua County. Hospice was chosen because of Woodfield’s positive dealings with Hospice recently during her father’s illness.
“I never imagined how easy the staff made it for my father to feel comfortable; it was like they were our own family coming in,” Woodfield said.
Hospice Chautauqua County provides advanced therapies and services to those with life-limiting illnesses. Greater Woodlawn was able to raise $187 for these therapies which are not normally covered by insurance or Medicare.
“We are very appreciative when someone raises any amount of money for us. At this point we know we are able to help one more person in need,” said Megan D’Angelo, director of community relations.
