Spanos Is Guest On Senior Report

“Senior Report with Reed Powers” will have MaryAnn Spanos as the guest Saturday. Spanos is director of the Chautauqua County Office for the Aging. The live, call-in program airs from 9-10 a.m. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions or comments. The program is rebroadcast each day at 2 and 8 p.m. for some communities. Reed Powers, host of Senior Report, has been producing the television program since 1995. The series highlights senior citizen club news for 15 minutes with the remainder of the hour-long program devoted to the featured guest. The guest is subject to change. The show originates at the Access Channel 5 studio in Mayville. Viewers should note that all area public access channels have been dropped from Time Warner’s analog service, but can be received on digital service with a converter or on a digital television that has been recently autoscanned.

Bag Sale To Begin Tuesday

Community Helping Hands will hold its August Bag Sale from Tuesday through Saturday with a special preview day on Friday. New items are put out everyday, come find a treasure and support a charity that helps local families in need. Open Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon. Bible School Begins Monday

Panama School Board To Meet

PANAMA – The Panama Central School Board of Education will hold its scheduled board meeting Monday at 7 p.m. in the boardroom. This meeting is open to the public.

Knife Thrower Coming To Area

The First Baptist Church of Frewsburg will present Johnny Bailey on Sunday at 10:45 a.m. and Monday at 7 p.m. Bailey is a three-time world champion knife thrower as well as in the Guinness World Book of Records for bullwhipping. He will be doing a demonstration of these skills at the First Baptist Church located at 17 E. Main St. in Frewsburg. Call 708-1981 for more information.

JPS Board To Gather Tuesday

The Jamestown Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the board room at 197 Martin Road. The public is invited to attend.

Sewer District Sets Meeting

The South & Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer District administrative board will meet Tuesday, at the Water Pollution Control Facility at 4 p.m.

ALLEGANY – The next meeting of the Cattaraugus County Board of Health is set for Wednesday, at noon at the St. Bonaventure Clubhouse Restaurant, Route 417, Allegany.
