Two Men Charged In Wednesday Morning Burglary

Two Jamestown men were awaiting arraignment on burglary charges after police say they broke into a city business Wednesday morning.

Facing third-degree burglary and criminal mischief charges are David M. Henn, 23, and Shane M. McDaniel, 20. Police at 5:15 a.m. were dispatched to Aaron’s Rental, 1800 Washington St., for a commercial burglary alarm.

A bowling ball was found to have been used to break out the front window to the business, a police report said.

While responding, officers observed Henn and McDaniel walking in the area. Police learned the city residents allegedly broke the front window and entered the business in order to cause damage.

Henn and McDaniel were taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.

They were awaiting arraignment Wednesday.

“They were disgruntled customers, and their goal was to get inside and cause as much damage as possible,” Jamestown police Capt. Robert Samuelson said. “While they were inside they did set off the alarm.”

Samuelson said damage could exceed “thousands of dollars,” although an exact amount was not yet determined. Most damage was to the window.

Jamestown police were assisted by state police.
