Cardboard Boat Event Cancelled

The Cardboard Boat Regatta scheduled for Saturday has been canceled. Arts Council For Chautauqua County and Reg Lenna Civic Center did not receive enough registrations to go through with the event as planned. Questions may be directed to 664-2465, ext. 227.

Thrift Shop Is Stocked Well

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, Jamestown, is well-stocked with summer clothing for men, women and children as well as small household items and jewelry. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Summer hours for sales and receiving are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. On Tuesday, receiving hours are 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds are used for local outreach. The all-volunteer local staff includes many from RSVP.

Thrift Store Is Accepting Items

The Community Outreach Center Thrift Store, First Lutheran Church, third floor, corner of Chandler and Center streets, is currently accepting donations of gently used men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and also household goods. Store hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Every child will receive a free stuffed toy. All proceeds will benefit local charities.

Block Sale Event Set For Weekend

Park West held their July neighborhood meeting outdoors in Veterans Park. Co-presidents Stephanie Wright and Kimberly Lombard announced the continuation of the “Every-Odd-Year Wild Westside Block Sale.” This sale takes place in August of each odd year promoting interaction and communications among neighbors. Debbie Basile, chairperson for the event, says to expect even more households to participate this year. Refreshments will be available. The sale is on the west side of Jamestown and will include parts of McDaniel, Fairmount, Harding, Hallock, Fullerton, Todd, Woodworth and Royal. The sale runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Town Picnic Parade Is Saturday

ELLINGTON – The 101st Ellington Town Picnic Parade will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. Lineup for the parade is at 5 p.m. at the Ellington Ball Field located near the Ellington Town Hall Building on West Main Street. Lawn, Bake Sale Set For Saturday

LAKEWOOD – The Chautauqua Colony, 2109 Southwestern Drive, Lakewood, will host a lawn, craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Vendors are welcome. Call 661-9538 for reservations. Lunch will be available.

‘Scroggins’ To Play Saturday

KENNEDY – “Scroggins” will play from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Hallquist Park on Route 394 in Kennedy. Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair. Refreshments will be available for sale.

Quilt Show Set For Saturday
