Area Police Reports

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

James J. Spitale, 36, was charged at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree menacing and criminal obstruction of breathing. Officers responded to Barrett Avenue for a domestic dispute. Police learned Spitale allegedly held a female to the floor by her throat, choking her, and would not let her get up. Spitale also threatened to hit the female with a piece of wood, police said. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and was awaiting arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

PORTLAND – Jacob D. Chelton, 31, of Brocton, was charged at 11:53 p.m. on Saturday with failure to use designated lane and unlawful possession of marijuana. Deputies on patrol on Route 20 observed a vehicle commit a lane violation. Chelton was later found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana and was taken into custody. He was released with appearance tickets to be in Portland Court at a later date.

POMFRET – John R. McPherson, 42, of Attica, was charged at 2:07 a.m. on Sunday with driving while intoxicated common law, driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater and failure to keep right. Deputies observed a vehicle traveling east on Route 5 and failed to keep right. McPherson was later found to be intoxicated. He was issued appearance tickets to be in court at a later date.

MAYVILLE – Thomas D. Przepiora, 55, of Lake Avenue, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Deputies alleged that on Friday Przepiora violated an active order of protection when he showed up at another person’s place of work. A warrant was issued and he was taken into custody. Przepiora was arraigned in Chautauqua Court and committed to County Jail.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

Amanda K. Jackson, 24, of East Second Street, Jamestown, was taken into custody on a bench warrant for failure to appear in Busti Court on a petit larceny charge. She was due in court Tuesday and was being held in Chautauqua County Jail.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

KIANTONE – Wilson Cooper, 38, of Jamestown, was charged on July 24 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Cooper was stopped for a traffic violation while driving through a road check on Route 62. He was found to be driving on a suspended license. He was arraigned in Carroll Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail. Cooper is scheduled to appear in Kiantone Court at a later date.

ELLICOTT – Deserae McKale, 32, of Frewsburg, was charged on July 25 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation following a traffic violation. Troopers learned McKale’s license had been suspended since January. She was arraigned in Ellicott Court and released to appear at a later date.

BEMUS POINT – Wendy Seastrum, 37, was charged on July 25, was charged with second-degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child. Troopers responded to Bemus Point for a report of a domestic dispute. An investigation learned Seastrum threw things at a minor and tried to hit her with a car. She was processed at police barracks, arraigned in Ellery Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
