Community Yard Sales In Panama

PANAMA – Panama is organizing its annual community yard sales for Friday and Saturday. Anyone in the community who wants to participate or who needs more information can call Martha Miller no later than Wednesday at 782-3509.

TOPS Members Weigh In

TOPS NY 721 Jamestown met recently. Twenty-one members weighed in and a 15-pound loss was recorded. Best losers were Carol Kirkpatrick, TOPS; and Diane Anderson, KOPS. Pat Smith received free dues and was also a contest winner. Lillian Brown and Steve Crawford were prize winners. Mary Dooley received the KOPS inspiration Rose. Chapter weigh-in is from 8:30-9:30 a.m. each Thursday, followed by a meeting in the Kidder United Methodist Church, corner of South Main and Cole, Jamestown. For more information, call 763-4626.

Dinner Set

MAYVILLE – The Mayville United Methodist Church, 81 S. Erie St., will hold a pulled pork and beef-on-weck dinner from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. The church is handicapped accessible.

AARP Chapter Cancels Meeting

The Jamestown AARP chapter will not meet in August, and there will not be a board meeting in August.

Library Accepting Items For Sale

ASHVILLE – The Ashville Free Library is now accepting new and used books, in good condition, DVDs, and audio books for their annual book sale to be held Friday and Saturday. They are not accepting encyclopedias, college textbooks, magazines and Reader’s Digest-condensed novels. All other material can be brought to library during regular business hours. Comedy Fest Seeks Vendors

The Lucy Desi Center for Comedy is seeking vendors of all kinds for Friday and Saturday, from noon-6:30 p.m. at Jamestown’s “Comedy Central” party at the Jamestown Gateway Train Station. Festivities will include a silent and live auction of estate memorabilia and high-end designer items at 1 p.m., grape stomping, chocolate-wrapping, corn hole, interactive Pandora Comedy exhibits, never-before-seen archive items, comedy happy hours, music, beer, wine and more. There is no vendor fee for vendors from Jamestown, and a $30 fee for non-Jamestown vendors. To become a vendor, contact the Lucy Desi Center at 484-0800.

Fish Dinner

Set For Friday

BEMUS POINT – The Thule Lodge, located at 4123 Pancake Hill Road, will hold a fish dinner Friday from 5-7 p.m. In addition, a second choice meal will be a pork roast and rotmos dinner. The dinner is open to everyone. Thule Lodge, now in its 106th year, serves to preserve the Swedish heritage through events and activities. New members are always welcome.
